Thursday, June 12

6.30pm – Cryin’ o’ the Burley at various spots around the town

7.15pm – United Crafts Bussin’ concert in the Victoria Halls. Open to the public

8pm – Royal Burgh Ex-Standard Bearers Association lay a wreath at the Flodden Memorial, the Fletcher statue

Friday June 13: Common Riding Day

4am – Rouse Parade. The Flute Band preambles the town awakening in turn the Standard Bearer and the Provost

5.30am – Act of Remembrance. Ex-Servicemen gather at the War Memorial

6am – First Drum sounds in the West Port and the Silver Band plays around the ancient streets

6.15am – Exiles’ Song, Her Bright Smiles, is sung outside the County Hotel

6.30am – Foot procession arrives at the Victoria Halls while the riders assemble in the Back Row

6.45am – Installation of Greg MacDougall as Standard Bearer and Bussin’ of the Royal Burgh Flag on the balcony of the Victoria Halls

6.55am – Procession forms 
and marches to the Market Place

7am – Second Drum sounds in the Market Place and the procession moves off, Doon the Green

7.30am – Riders ford the Ettrick Water

7.45am – Riders gang up the Linglie Glen

8.45am – Riders at the summit of The Three Brethren

9am – Foot procession re-forms in the Market Place and leaves for Shawburn Toll

9.20am – Community singing at the Toll until.....

9.40am (approximately) – Coming in of the Burley and return of the riders

10.15am (approx.) – Procession again reforms and returns to the Market Place via Bleachfield Road and High Street

11am (approx.) – Casting of the Colours

11,1oam (approx.) Two Minutes Silence

11.15am (approx.) – Return of the Burgh Flag to the Provost and the conclusion of the ceremonials

2pm – Horse racing at Gala Rig

9pm – Common Riding Ball in Victoria Halls. Doors open 7.30pm; must be seated by 8.30pm; Grand March 10pm

Saturday, June 14

1pm – Silver Band leaves Mungo Park statue for the games,. Highland dancing and gymkhana
