FOR the first time, the Tweedsmuir Music Festival will be held in the grounds of the 400-year-old Crook Inn.
The community has won the right to buy the pub, which was closed in 2006, following a lengthy campaign.
However, locals must raise £160,000 by the end of 2012 if their dream of turning the 17th century premises into a hub for Upper Tweed Valley community projects is to be realised.
The festival, in its fourth year, was originally set up to raise money for Save the Crook Inn appeal and it is hoped that its packed line-up on Saturday, September 8, will encourage visitors to attend to aid the fundraising effort.
Headlining on the day are Edinburgh-based indie rock group Capitals, who appeared at T in the Park last weekend and have been named as one of the top 10 Scottish bands to see this summer.
Also included in the line-up are Liverpool-born Zoe Bestel, who has been described as the next Adele with a ukulele, and Borders singer/songwriter Katie Forbes of the Dull Fudds.
Twelve-piece Edinburgh soul and funk band Soulacoaster will perform classics from James Brown, Stevie Wonder, the Blues Brothers and Aretha Franklin among others, and up-and-coming pop band Selfish Lovers make the journey from England.
Blues outfit Scatterbrain look to revive live music in the style of deep south blues – not Texas, but south of Scotland – while Hellfire Club, All the Angels and Dougie Downie complete the line-up.
On-site camping is available and tickets can be bought in advance from.tweedsmuirfestival.co.uk for £17.50, £12.50 for under-18s, £40 for a family of five and children under five go free.
Gate price on the day is £20, under-18s £15 and family £45.
