Hawick RFC will host the inaugural Bill McLaren School Sevens at Mansfield Park on Friday, September 19.
A successful lottery fund application has enabled the club, in partnership with the Bill McLaren Foundation, to host the Under-15s event which they hope will be repeated in future.
Eight boys and four girls teams from secondary schools across the Borders will take part, with each adopting a Commonwealth country rugby team in celebration of the successful Commonwealth Rugby Sevens held in Glasgow this summer.
There will also be a clinic for youth coaches hosted by top Scottish sevens coaches and players at Mansfield Haugh at 9.30am prior to the event. There will be free entry to all throughout the day and food will be available in the clubhouse.
First tie is at 10.30am.
