RBS RESERVE LEAGUE EAST ONE

A FIRST-half hat-trick from Ross Tinlin set up a fine win for Kelso 2nds.

Preston opened the scoring with an unconverted try but Tinlin’s treble, as well as tries for Tony and Nick Wichary, and three conversions and a penalty from Greg Ponton, put the Tweedsiders 24-5 up at the break.

The bonus point was sealed in the opening minute of the second half when substitute Gary Mulroy scored with his first touch of the ball.

Further second-half tries came from Derek Welsh, Grant Hill, Greg Brown (2) and Louis Wichary, while four conversions came from Craig Renton’s boot.
