SELKIRK Rugby Club have had to battle hard over the last few weeks to keep hold of their National League third spot.
And this weekend will be no different as the Souters face fellow promotion chasers Dundee at Philiphaugh.
Their visitors are only two points behind them and, after coming through last week’s match at Hughenden relatively unscathed, Selkirk are certainly up for the fight.
Assistant coach Cameron Cochrane believes strength in depth is a key factor to his side’s lofty position and, with Watsonians being dragged back into the chasing pack, behind Boroughmuir, feels the squad have every chance of grabbing a promotion spot.
“We are still very much in contention and will be fighting every week to consolidate and improve our position,” he said.
Elsewhere in the National League, Peebles and Kelso (both mid-table on 19 points) go head-to-head at The Gytes.
All three Premiership teams are on the road. Melrose and Hawick continue with league business against Currie and Heriot’s respectively, while, on Sunday, Gala travel to Leeds for the second of their British & Irish Cup ties.
