Service to Local Sport ‑ Norman Anderson

Norman suffered a serious injury while playing rugby for Kelso at the age of 25 and took to coaching and administration in sport from then on.

He worked his way up through the Kelso club and also the South of Scotland School Rugby Union. From there he became a leading light in the Scottish Schools Rugby Union becoming Treasurer and then President.

He has also been secretary and President of Kelso RFC.

Norman currently serves both Kelso Cricket Club and SPORTKelso as Treasurer.

He was a volunteer at both Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 and 1986 and hopes to be involved at Glasgow next summer if he passes the interview.

He also currently helps run the Scottish Schools rugby cup competitions and is Treasurer of the Border League and Secretary of the National League Rugby Forum. He also sits on the SRU Appeals panel.
