Hawick’s return to the RBS Premiership started with a disappointing 23-16 home defeat to Aberdeen this afternoon.

Gala also grabbed a bonus point in a 31-14 victory over Currie as Craig Borthwick, Opeta Oalepoi, Al Emond and Grant Somerville scored, with new signing David O’Hagan kicking the rest of the points.
In the Championship B, Hawick YM fell to a 39-15 home defeat to Aberdeenshire and Jed-Forest won a hard fought victory 21-15 over Howe of Fife at Riverside Park with tries from Sean Goodfellow and John Szudro.
