A sparkling 10-minute spell from Harlequins just after the interval virtually sank Langholm’s hopes in the bottom-of-the-table clash at Milntown, writes John Smith.
Langholm produced the early pressure and from an attacking drive near the visitors’ line, No8 Eddie Turner broke the whitewash for a try after seven minutes.
It remained 5-0 until half-time and at that stage Langholm looked the better side, but there was a real shock in store at the restart.
An Adam Hall penalty goal followed by tries from Ross Anderson and Jordan Hislop, both converted by Hall, put the Quins 17-5 ahead with 50 minutes on the clock.
Hall added a self-converted try as the game approached the final quarter and despite Scott Howatson touching down for the hosts, Smith converting, Quins were home and dry when Matt Young added a final try to seal the win.
