Dalziel began the better of the two sides and commanded both ball and territory in the early exchanges.
After 20 minutes, however, Peebles managed to set up a driving maul from a line-out and despite Dalziel stopping the maul three times the ball was eventually forced over the try-line by Ryan McConnell.
From the restart Dalziel were on the offensive and Robert Simpson stroked over two penalties to edge his team into the lead.
The ebb and flow continued, but the hosts went into the break 8-6 in front following a Neil Warnock penalty.
Warnock added another after the restart and in the closing stages some slack defence from the visitors allowed Martin Cruikshank in for the final try.
