Lisa shines on Scots debut

Gillian Inglis (Melrose) and Lisa Robertson (Gala) both took part in the Scotland Ladies’ team that lost 59-0 against Ireland in Dublin last Friday.

Inglis, 22, started her fourth cap at centre, while Robertson, 20, came off the bench for her debut.

Reigning champs Ireland blew the Scots away before the visitors’ substitutions began to make a difference in the final quarter.

And Robertson came in for some praise from assistant coach Derek O’Riordan, who said: “Lisa made a remarkable difference at scrum-time which gave us a solid platform to work off.”

The Scottish ladies take on England on Sunday at Rubislaw, Aberdeen.
