Leck looks to see out season on a high note

IT may be all happening at the top of the Premiership at the moment, but Hawick coach Phil Leck has his own agenda as the 2013/14 season nears its conclusion.

Focusing on his own team’s plight as they get ready to play title contenders Gala at Mansfield Park on Saturday (3.30pm) comes second to none.

Speaking to The Southern this week, Leck said: “We are looking to take 16-plus points from our last four games and finish as high up the table as we can get.

“Our preparation hasn’t been the best with our pitch suffering because of the weather, but on the bright side we have several key players returning from injury in time for these last few games, so we are more than capable of achieving our goal.”

Hawick have Neil Renwick, Gary Johnstone and Shawn Muir returning to the squad for Saturday, and may also have the use of two pro players.

Gala have the chance to sneak back into pole position this weekend as the match is the only Premiership game on due to Scotland’s Six Nations game in Rome.

Tomorrow (Friday), Peebles will play Biggar (7.30pm) in a rearranged National League fixture.
