Lawrie’s Garage, part of the Border Motor Group based in St Boswells, is once again sponsoring Selkirk Sevens, which takes place at Philiphaugh on Saturday, May 9.

This is the third successive year the company has supported the event, and Lawrie’s general manager Craig Anderson says the firm is delighted to be involved once again.

“We are very happy to continue our sponsorship,” commented Mr Anderson, “and got a lot of positive feedback from last year’s event.

“The Selkirk tournament is one of the most popular on the Kings of the Sevens circuit, and Lawrie’s is pleased to be able to play a part in helping to enhance this reputation.”

Selkirk Rugby Club’s sevens convener is former Scotland internationalist John Rutherford, who said everyone at Philiphaugh was delighted to welcome Lawrie’s Garage back as the 2015 tournament’s sponsor.

“Having Lawrie’s Garage on board for the third year in a row has given the 2015 sevens a massive boost, and we’re delighted to be strengthening our ties with such a prestigious organisation as Lawrie’s Garage.

“We’ve again managed to attract an extremely strong line-up of teams, and this year are delighted to welcome special guests Loughborough, who are now coached by former Selkirk player Ciaran Beattie.

“Other teams include BT Premiership sides Heriot’s FP and Edinburgh Accies, as well the seven Booker Border League clubs plus Watsonians, Stewart’s/Melville FP, Falkirk, Hamilton, Berwick and Langholm.”

Lawrie’s Garage is the only Volkswagen, SKODA and Hyundai service and approved used car centre in the Borders offering the full range of cars for sale with the added support of the award-winning sales team. Lawrie’s Garage intends to have several of its cars on display at the Selkirk tournament. The 2015 Selkirk Sevens takes place at Philiphaugh on Saturday, May 9, first tie 2pm.
