NATIONAL DIVISION ONE
JOHN SMITH reports from Milntown
table-toppers Musselburgh demolished an understrength Langholm side with nine tries, of which eight were converted.
Langholm were only able to field seven regulars due to a recent spate of injuries and Musselburgh exploited a weak inexperienced home defence.
Six converted tries came in the first half, mainly from poor Langholm defending, to make it 42-0 at the break.
It looked like the one-way traffic would continue, but Langholm made a determined fight back.
Keith Davidson sent an intelligent kick for Lewis Miller, who did well to jink past the defender to score. Niall Cubbon converted to make it 42-7 after 55 minutes.
Langholm continued to give Musselburgh problems, but fell away in the last 10 minutes when the visitors grabbed another three tries of which two were converted.
