LANGHOLM travelled with only 15 players last Saturday and were crushed by RHC who, in doing so, gained promotion to the National League.
The Milntown men must be praised for managing to put a team on to the field and it is great credit to the players who turned out, as a heavy defeat was on the cards. Several of the team, many playing out of position, took knocks, but with no replacements, just had to struggle on regardless. Langholm never gave in, with Jordan Reid, Scott Howatson and Dayne Massey to the fore.
The Cougars were bigger, faster and stronger and although Langholm tackled resolutely, the home side continually offloaded, which created space and were 48-0 up at half-time.
Langholm improved in the second half when they managed to get some possession and looked threatening with ball in hand, but Cougars were as strong in defence as they were in attack.
