The last National League game of the season proved an entertaining affair, despite the game being a dead rubber with no promotion or relegation at stake.
Kelso surged ahead when a succession of rucks saw Andy Tait driven over, Matt Douglas converting and adding a penalty, before a stolen lineout ball allowed Kieran Cooney to finish off.
Donald Anderson set the scoreboard rolling for the visitors with a couple of straightforward penalties before Kelso’s Dom Buckley crashed over at the posts to present Douglas with an easy conversion. The bonus-point try came soon after when Tait snatched his second touchdown of the day with Douglas converting.
Yellow cards dished out to Gregg Minto and Donald Seed during the second half almost proved the undoing of the hosts. Tries from Ruaridh Clinch, Jonathan Swiatek and Anderson, who converted two, closed the gap to just four points.
