Jed-Forest got back to winning ways on Saturday with a comprehensive victory over third placed Marr at Riverside Park.

The hosts got off to the perfect start with Lewis Young chasing a perfectly weighted chip through to touch down. Gregor Mein converted and added a penalty three minutes later.

Jed continued to attack and when Mein chipped over the Marr defence and the ever alert Fraser Harkness gathered the ball and quickly fed Gregor Young who scored under the posts for Mein to convert.

Marr dominated the rest of the first half and scored three tries to take a narrow 19-17 halftime lead.

The hosts began the second half the same way that they started the first with relentless pressure leading to tries from Scott Raeburn and Gregor Young with Mein converting the latter.

Marr did narrow the lead with a try after 70 minutes from more sloppy Jed tackling but the game was sealed five minutes later after Gregor Young completed his hat-trick and Mein made the conversion.

Marr never threatened to spoil Jed’s day after that, even with a lot of extra time and Jed even managed to stretch the lead with a late Mein penalty.
