Elsewhere on the BT National Division One circuit last weekend there were wins for both Jed-Forest and Peebles.

The Riverside Park outfit got off to a slow start against Stewart’s Melville at Inverleith with only a long range penalty kicked by Gregor Mein marking the scoreboard after 40 minutes.

Ten minutes into the second half however prop Connor Hogg rumbled over with Mein converting and, from the kick off, Jed struck again with Lewis Young completing a flowing move. The conversion put the visitors 17-0 in front but with the contest more or less over the hosts relaxed and Ciaran Fraser ran in a late try to complete the scoring.

Over at the Gytes Peebles recorded their first league win of the season over table toppers, and previously undefeated, Marr.

The Pees ran out victors by 26-20 lifting them off the bottom of the table.
