LINDEN travelled to Barnton in Edinburgh to play RHC Cougars – one of the favourites to win the East League One title.
The match started at a frantic pace with Linden having their fair share of the ball, forcing play in the RHC half for the first 10 minutes.
Playing a high-tempo game, however, the hosts stepped up a gear and Linden had to make every tackle count. Despite scoring two tries and a penalty during the half, RHC appeared frustrated at going into the break only 13-0 to the good.
Increased efforts saw a barrage of scoring in the second period with another four tries and three conversions bringing the game to a conclusion.
Although well beaten, there were plenty of positives for the Teries. In the forwards Will Barker had a strong game and Josataki Wakolo ran hard. The front row put in a great shift against much bigger opposition and the backs gave their all.
