Playing into a slight breeze, the home team opened the scoring with a penalty goal before Hawick player/coach Nikki Walker steadied the ship with a well-taken try.

Ali Wear then landed a 35- metre penalty to stretch the visitors’ lead.

Rory Scott received a yellow card 10 minutes before half-time, which proved costly for Hawick as their opponents shunted them back for Ross Weston to touch down for a converted try.
Wear landed another penalty for Hawick before Currie replicated their earlier try, with the Greens still down to 14 men, to give them a 15-11 lead at the interval.

During the second half, the Greens backs created many openings, with Keith Davies capitalising to score in the corner and put his team ahead.

Despite continual pressure, the Greens could not extend their lead and it was the home stand-off who landed a late penalty to give his side a narrow victory.
