HOT on the heels of their convincing victory at Malleny Park last weekend Gala RFC are on the move once more this Saturday when they take the road to Dundee, writes Fiona Scott.
For coach George Graham last weeks 37-20 win has made team selection easier. There is one enforced change and that is Gerald Sabanda who on his debut picked up a shoulder injury after showing some very good touches and a good turn of pace. Speaking about last week’s encouraging victory Graham commented: “Against Currie I felt we played our best rugby of the season so far and scored two good tries.
“We could have scored a few more if not for some lax handling, the pack played very well and showed more hunger and willingness to secure ball and get the backs running of forward ball and for another week the front have been immense putting the current club international front row to the sword, if they are not involved with club internationals this season I will be very surprised.”
And looking forward: “Our game against Dundee couldn’t have came at a better time. The win against Currie will give the players a boost of confidence and they will need all the skill and confidence they can muster as there are no easy games at Mayfield.
“Dundee have had a few strange results this season so far but I’m sure Ian Rankin will be doing all he can to rectify the problem so I expect nothing other than a very tough competitive match.”
Saturday’s game at Mayfield kicks off at 3pm.
