The 98th playing of the Crichton Cup Sevens at the Greenyards in Melrose was held last Saturday.
Around 200 children from the age of five to 18 in the Earlston High School catchment area took part in a number of closely fought games.
The Crichton Cup Sevens was set-up to get youngsters involved in rugby and as a scouting system to find local talent to feed future Borders teams.
A spokesperson for the tournament said: “With robust coaching structures now in place for youth rugby, 98 years on, the Crichton Sevens serves as a celebration of the game and rugby is the clear winner.”
Organisers thanked Purves accountants for their sponsorship.
