Hawick moved into the third round of the BT Cup on Saturday, with a relatively easy away victory over National League One outfit Marr.
The Greens took less than 10 minutes to open the scoring, with Ali Weir kicking a simple penalty between the sticks.
Marr replied likewise before Hawick went into cruise control against their less experienced opposition. Scott McLeod, Sean Muir, Lindsey Gibson and Nick Mactaggart all touched down before the break, with Weir adding all four conversions and a second penalty for a 34-10 half-time lead.
The game was killed as a contest straight after the interval when Muir went over for his second try of the game, while Michael Robertson finished off a rolling maul to add Hawick’s sixth.
The game reached a conclusion when replacement Sean Chapman sealed the victory and Weir again maintained his 100 per cent performance with the boot.
