Composure crucial as Melrose head to Goldenacre

ACCURACY and composure will be key factors in the Melrose game plan when they take to the road in search of a win against Heriots at Goldenacre on Saturday, writes Fiona Scott.

Craig Chalmers has made a few small tweaks to the team following their defeat to Gala last weekend and is hoping to get back to winning ways in the capital.

“After a better defensive performance last week against Gala we go to Goldenacre desperate to get back to winning ways,” he said.

“I could not fault my players last week for commitment and hunger, but our execution, decision making and accuracy in attack must improve if we are to get the win we are working so hard for. We must also keep our composure at the crucial times in the game.”

Andrew Skeen is back at 10, Richard Mill to 12, Joe Helps reverts to the wing and Peter Eccles comes back onto the bench after a good performance for the seconds.

Melrose team to face Heriots at Goldenacre (2pm): F. Thomson; B. Hutchison, J. Murray, R, Mill, J. Helps; A. Skeen, B. Colvine; N. Little, R. Ferguson, G. Holborn, R. Ovens, R. Miller, J. Dalziel, G. Runciman, A. Nagle. Subs: W. Mitchell, C. Keen, P. Eccles, S. McCormick, S. Chalmers.
