Colts earn their spurs at awards

BORDERS rugby internationalists from the past and present have been gracing Milntown with their presence in recent weeks.

Presentations at the Langholm Colts dinner and trophy night were made by former Scotland international Jim Renwick from Hawick.

Awards – players’ player, and player of the season, Joe Dickinson; most improved, Gregor Masterton and best trainer, Eddie Turner.

Two days later, the youth section dinner took place with Selkirk’s Lee Jones, the Edinburgh and Scotland winger, as chief guest.

Rugby development officer Iain Park asked Jones to make the presentations. He also spoke to the young players and showed them his cap and international shirt.

Most improved: P4 Thomas Coates, P5 Murray Pool, P6 Cameron Lowther, P7 Chris Hubersty.
