As New Zealand are still celebrating their second World Cup triumph, The Bill McLaren Foundation is hoping to raise £4,000 from the auction of the Voice of Rugby’s big sheet from the first ever tournament final.
McLaren commentated on the inaugural rugby cup final at Eden Park, Auckland – where the All Blacks took on the French and won 29-9.
To date, copies of these limited edition sheets have been auctioned in aid of the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal and the New Zealand Injured Rugby Players’ Association, with a copy also featured in the New Zealand Rugby Museum.
The sheet to be auctioned has also been signed by Andy Dalton, the squad captain of the 1987 All Blacks side.
The full sheet can be viewed and bids can be made through the Bill McLaren Foundation website - www.billmclarenfoundation.co.uk/RWC-BigSheet
