IT WAS dry at the Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday night although right at the end there was the odd drop of rain.
However the stock car drivers were in good form and as a result there was no shortage of action in all races.
John Hogg (Berwick) was in a big shunt during the Grand National when he hit the wall at full pelt with the car shedding a wheel in the process. Scott Devine and Ian McLaughlin clashed more than once within a couple of laps before he ended up bouncing off the wall and out of the race. Mike McCombie and Scott Chisholm clashed and as they spun, Aaryn Triggs joined in with the cars behind just managing to squeeze through the narrowest of gaps.
Bryan Lindsay was sent careering across the grass in one of the ministox races and then ended up crashing into the wall in the next.
Amongst the formula IIs in action were visitors Craig Utley, John Broatch and Geoff Forster whilst the local driver was John Hogg (Berwick).
Hogg’s only finish was a tenth in the final before he crashed out heavily in the Grand National.
There was a good turn out of ministox drivers with Andrew Mathieson having his first Racewall outing whilst the local driver was Craig Murray (Moffat).
Murray was eighth in heat one and then sixth in heat two. Murray was involved in a hard dice in the third heat and he did well to bring his car home in seventh place.
This Saturday it’s the formula II drivers turn to contest the final of the white/yellow grade series and they are joined in the action by the saloons, the stock rods who are racing for their Turner trophy, the lightning rods and prostox with the meeting starting at 6pm as usual.
