Setting an example

AT A time when the world is looking on at Scottish Tennis, thanks to racket legend Andy Murray, the Selkirk club, in keeping with it’s excellent junior tennis tradition, served up a treat of extremely high standard tennis at its recent Junior Championships.

“The international Tennis World & Olympic Movement could do a lot worse than have a look at what happens in Selkirk,” according to committee man Ian Wilkie.

Champions: U16 Boys Winner – Joshua Thomson, Runner-Up – Donald Nichol; U12 Girls Winner – Caitlin Ryde, Runner-Up – Rowan Davidson; U12 Boys Winner – Gregor Nichol, Runner-Up – Andrew Davidson; Starter Cup Winner – Cameron Scott, Runner-Up – Guy Mallin; U8 Mixed Winner – Jack Lees, Runner-Up – Ivan Burtsmith.

Selkirk Tennis Club will hold its AGM at Philipburn House Hotel on Wednesday, October 24, at 7pm.
