Podium for Jed runner

JEDBURGH track star Sophie Elder has began her year in fine form.

Competing at the Scottish Universities and College Indoor Track and Field Championship, Sophie, who is in her first year at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, was second in the final of the women’s indoor 400m on Saturday at the brand new Emirates Arena in
Glasgow.

Sophie ran an impressive race beating a number of rivals to come in behind Dundee’s Laura Muir. This was Sophie’s first competitive race of the year and she looks forward to her next meeting at the Scottish Championships in March.
