Masterclass for Christie

DESPITE the awful wet weather at the weekend, the double FITA Star hosted by Balbardie archers in Bathgate went ahead.

Border Bowmen member Leigh Christie won the ladies’ recurve with 1,106 on Saturday, then on Sunday she shot 1,212 which is her first master bowman score, for a total of 2,318. Archers gaining three master bowman scores are propelled into the top five per cent of archers in the United Kingdom.

On Sunday, Michael Murray had a single-day score of 1,110.
