YOUNG equestrian star, Jill Slight from Oxton, has been riding high after a number of successful qualifiers on her show hunter pony, Seatshill Little Rogue.

Jill, a pupil at Loretto School near Edinburgh, qualified for the Royal International Horse Show at the British Show Pony Society and recently won her class at the first Horse of the Year Show at the Midland Counties.

Not content with that, the 18-year-old has also built up a superb relationship with her new intermediate worker, Mystery Morn. The pair recently competed in their second Royal International qualifier at Baston, Lincolnshire, where they won and qualified.

Jonathan Hewat, director of external affairs at Loretto School, told TheSouthern: “Jill is a real talent. She has shown great determination and skill to achieve what she has.

“She is very enthusiastic about the sport and it is great to hear about her recent achievements. We wish her the best of luck for the year ahead and I am sure she will continue to do Loretto and the Borders proud.”
