ETTRICK Forest Riders Association held their first competition of 2013 last weekend.
The event was an open dressage competition with the introduction of a walk/trot test as well as qualifiers in prelim and novice for the Retraining of Racehorse series.
Massive entries were received with some 70 tests to get through on a day that threatened heavy snow throughout. The elements, for a change, were kind to competitors and only a handful of entries were lost.
Judges were complimentary as to the standard of the local riders and thoroughly enjoyed their day.
The association would like to thank the many people who helped and the Riding for the Disabled ladies who served welcome refreshments to raise funds for their cause.
