Bowlers bow out

LAST Saturday saw the last outdoor competition at Ettrick Forest Bowling Club.

On a glorious sunny afternoon there was a good turnout for the Farmers Triples. After the qualifying sections the triples skipped by A. Elder, P. Warwick, C. Sandilands, S. Skeldon, I. Borthwick, D. Weir, G. Rees and a team from Newcastleton completed the quarter-final line up.

The semi-finals were then contested with Rees, P. McVie and H. Scott defeating Colin Sandilands, D. Sandilands and Claire Sandilands by one shot. The other semi saw Skeldon, G. Allan and R. McCulloch losing out to Borthwick, S. Hislop and R. Pringle.

In the final, Borthwick, Hislop and Pringle defeated Rees, McVie and Scott.

Ettrick Forest would like to thank sponsors F. Forster, T. Brown and G. Davies for there continued and valued support and would also like to thank Lindsay Grieve for the catering.

President Colin Sandilands thanked the committee and everyone that helped during the season.
