Gala travelled to Philiphaugh and the sides were greeted with a grassy wicket and gusty conditions.
On winning the toss Selkirk skipper John Everitt opted to field. Grahame Ormiston and David Boland were both steady, putting on 45 for the first wicket before Greg Fenton had Boland trapped in front for 23. Mein was next to go, Michael Fenton pouching in the cordon.
Josh Irvine made a 44-run partnership with Ormiston before succumbing to John Graham on 26. The 81 run partnership between Andrew McMenemy and Ormiston was the highlight, McMenemy eventually fell for 53, including four fours and a six.
With wickets in hand Ormiston gradually increased the tempo but fell to the bowling of Fenton for 67.
The lower proved fragile with the exception of hard-hitting Duncan Millar who added a quick fire unbeaten 24 – the score on 211 with the loss of nine wickets after the 50 overs.
Unfortunately for the visitors rain intervened during the tea interval and no more play was possible. This leaves Gala having completed only one of four league matches so far this season.
