Kelso High School has fielded a first and second XI throughout the early part of the season and, in general, had great success.
The Under-18 Knockout Cup saw Kelso win their first game comfortably against Earlston 7-0 before defeating Hawick 8-2 in the semi-final.
The final was a much closer game against Selkirk.
With the score 1-1 at half-time, the second half saw Kelso continue to control the game with some excellent passing, although Selkirk always looked dangerous on the break.
But Kirsty Hill struck her second goal of the game to retain the cup.
The Under-16 Knockout Cup started well with a comfortable win over Jedburgh GS, but the second round and semi-final were very different. A 2-1 win over Galashiels Academy – thanks to goals from Lucy Ramsay and Claire Hill – set up the final against Selkirk.
The game’s deadlock was ended in the second half when Claire Hill put Kelso in front.
And the same player scored again to retain the trophy which Kelso have won for the last two years.
