A six-year-old schoolboy from Kelso has became the youngest Minimoto rider in Scotland to take an official podium place in the sport.

Troy Jeffrey, above right, was only five when he took his first place on a podium and has since made it three with two further placings in the Junior A category of the Scottish Minimoto Championships. A Broomlands Primary School pupil, Troy began riding at Kirkcaldy in March. His first race meeting was on April 20 at Kirkcaldy, and since May has competed at Kirkcaldy, Knockhill, Warden Law (Sunderland) and Larkhall.
