GALASHIELS CYCLING CLUB

DUE to unforeseen circumstances last week’s race was changed from a 22-mile hilly TT to a 10-mile TT.

Two additional riders joined the ranks. Conditions were almost perfect, though a slight easterly wind brought with it a cool air.

Simon Mills continued his run of form with another personal best of 24 minutes 48 seconds.

And on his debut performance Stuart Henderson put in a respectable time of 30.13 beating some of Wednesday night regulars.

Biggest improvement of the night was Billy Watson taking an impressive 1.15 off his previous time. The event was won by Graeme Lawrie with a season best of 23.48.

ON MONDAY night the club held a 12-mile time trial on the Orange Lane course with yet another good turnout of 24 riders taking part.

With the outbound leg into a strong headwind and the wind aiding the homeward leg, six riders recorded personal best times with Simon Gaunt knocking five minutes off his personal best. The winner was David Walker in 27.40.
