GALA CYCLING CLUB

Perfect conditions prevailed for the Gordon Rout Memorial Hilly TT round one, with a field of 20.

The event was won by Gary Robson in 28.03, hot on the heels of his top-six finish in the Tour of the Meldons at the weekend.

Condolences go to the family of Alex McLaren (Eck) who died last Friday. He was a former rider of Gala CC and did much to promote the club in his time.

On Monday night the club held a 10-mile time trial on the Carham course, with a fantastic turnout of 22 riders taking part, and five recording personal best times.

Kenny Darling, carrying on from where he left off last season, won in 23.19.
