Speedway: Berwick Bandits back on track

BERWICK’S speedway Bandits, having had a week off from racing, return to the Shielfield Park track on Saturday night.

The opposition will be provided by Glasgow’s prowling Tigers, with both sides aiming for a place in the final of the season-climaxing Premier League Challenge Trophy.

The home-track Bandits will have Australian Nick Morris in their colours yet again, and he’ll have his countryman Micky Dyer as his partner in Heat No 1. Dyer, who joined the club as their seventh rider after he was released by Edinburgh, has, in just over a month, boosted his scoring to the extent he has now been elevated to the main team, which has been reshuffled to reflect his presence.

Glasgow, who require two guests – in place of Joe Screen and reserve Charles Wright – have yet to name their squad for the clash.

Saturday’s Bandits line-up: 1, Nick Morris, 2, Micky Dyer, 3, Robin Aspegren, 4, David Bellego, 5, Sebastian Alden, 6, Klaus Jacobsen, 7, Nicki Barrett.
