Ship A (Melrose) crushed a lacklustre Waverley A (Hawick) last week to clinch the Borders Pool League first division title with two games remaining.

The battle for second place is hotting up as Reivers A (Galashiels) and High Level A (Hawick) both won to challenge Waverley A, while Dryburgh eased their relegation worries by edging victory over Reivers B.

In division two, Waverley B and Fleece B (Selkirk) both won to stay top – one point clear of Station (Hawick) who ended High Level B’s hopes and make it a three-way battle for honours.
