ANOTHER mixed bag of results came Selkirk Rifle Club’s way over the last week with the Brown boys featuring strongly once again.
On Sunday, Eric Brown shot in the Wigan Open shoot and came away with the third place prize in the A Class after shooting a 592 ex-600. Darren Brown, assisted by Ettrick & Lauderdale Sports Council, also attended, along with the Scotland Under-21 squad, and, shooting for the first time at 50m in B class, scored a 579 ex-600 (a new personal best) placing him in the top half of the results, eighth out of 22.
In the Scottish League Division One, Selkirk A were defeated by Aberdeen University by 391-393, with top scorer for Selkirk being Eric Brown with 99.
In Division Two, Selkirk B defeated Clachnacuddin A by 383-368, with top scorers for Selkirk being Darren Brown and Kevin Edward with two 97s.
In the Lothian Leagues Division One, Selkirk A defeated Balerno & Currie B by 390-388, with top scorer for Selkirk being Eric Brown with 99.
Division Two saw Selkirk B defeat Lanark A by 379-377, with top scorer for Selkirk being Kevin Edward with 96.
And finally, in Division Four, Selkirk C were defeated by Kinross & Milnathort A by 360-375, with Robert Murray Selkirk’s top scorer on 93.
