Borders Fjordhus II 10
Dunfermline Carnegie Ladies II 0
EAST LADIES FIRST DIVISION
FJORDHUS II put in another winning performance last Saturday as they travelled to table-props Dunfermline.
The Borderers dominated from the whistle, but took a little time to compose themselves before opening the scoring through Katie Francis. Maddy Riddell then grabbed the first of her four goals when she got on the end of a great cross from Kirsty Marchbank.
Dunfermline put up very little resistance, but Borders struggled to play at their best.
Some better passing through the midfield allowed Sara Robson to put in a great pass to Martha Douglas, who swept the ball in from the left post, leaving the goalie no chance. Borders went into half-time frustrated but 3-0 ahead.
With some encouragement from coach Debra Martin the team raised their game in the second half.
Riddell scored her second from a great cross in from Jennifer Kinsella.
Francis followed with her second, while Riddell added another two, gaining her shared player of the match with Kinsella, who also scored following some good passing in the D.
Robson got on the scoresheet five minutes from the end after Laura McColm opened up the defence with some great passing skills and the final goal came from a short corner after the whistle when Francis found a good angle to get the 10th goal past the Dunfermline keeper.
Throughout the game the defence played their part in not conceding, ensuring that the Fjordhus scoresheet remained clean.
This winning performance leaves the team in a good position towards the top of the table with four games left to play.
