Scout finds her feet on Skiddaw

It is probably her most raced mountain and familiarity with the territory helped Moorfoot Runner Scout Adkin to win the Skiddaw Fell Race in the Lake District on Sunday.

Returning home in a time of one hour, 21 minutes and 38 seconds, the 20 year-old physiotherapy student was nearly seven minutes quicker than last year and crossed the line 38 seconds clear of the second woman home.

The race was preparation for a second assault on Snowdon on July 20, this time in the Snowdon Super Cup, an invitation-only uphill race with a top international field.
