THE sun was smiling on the riders taking part in the first 25-mile time trial this year – none more so than Gary Robson who rode into the sunshine with a winning time of 57 minutes.

David Johnston (160 points) and Jim Logan (141) have opened up a lead in the TT League with Jim Stark (126) currently third.

PEEBLES

Following his win the previous week, a wrong turn meant that Calum Magowan was unable to repeat the feat in the Shiplaw-Meldons time trial.

For the second time this season, Sam Waterston took first place and was one of four riders to complete the course in under 60 minutes.
