GALASHIELS

HORRENDOUS conditions prevailed as riders from all over the South of Scotland battled for their positions in last week’s 10-mile open time trial.

The rain lashed down relentlessly with everyone getting soaked to the bone. Luckily coffees and teas with some delicious goodies were available to help recovery. Thanks go to Margaret Johnston who rallied to their aid.

First home was Gary Robson of the host club (G), closely followed by Kenny Darling of Kelso Wheelers (K) and David Caesar from Bicycle Works in 22.13.

Considering weather conditions it was uplifting to see eight riders achieve times under 23 minutes. The team prize was won by Kelso Wheelers, a great effort!
