Fjordhus Reivers 5
Playing this return East Under-16s League fixture at Tweedbank, Reivers were looking to build on their first performance against CALA, which ended in a 3-2 loss.
Hollie Grieve made her debut for the squad as goalkeeper and showed early signs of promising decision-making and footwork.
The match started with both teams sharing even possession before Reivers settled into shape and opened up the pitch.
Imogen Johnstone-Jones scored their first from a fluid passing move between Izzy Kyle, Aimee Martin, Chloe Richardson and Caitlin Wright.
A second soon followed as Reivers found their stride.
A pass from Martin found Richardson out on the right wing, allowing her to cut inside and chip the ball with force from the top of the circle into goal.
Jenny Sharp scored Reivers’ third just before half-time.
In the second half, Fjordhus held the majority of possession and created further goal-scoring opportunities. Jenny Wright scored the fourth from a short corner and Tara Aitchison finished the scoring with a slick reverse shot.
Coach Pippa Bell said: “The Under-16s have gone from strength to strength this season in the league, building in confidence and performance to compete convincingly with the well-established Edinburgh clubs.”
