A FREEZING cold Berwickshire High School games hall hosted the annual secondary schools badminton tournament with good entries at both the Under-14 and Under-16 age groups.
For the first time there were no games played in the Under-18 tournament due to lack of entries.
Six out of the nine secondary schools in the Borders were represented this year, with Kelso, Peebles, Eyemouth, Earlston, Jedburgh and Berwickshire High Schools pupils all taking part.
There was a great atmosphere and some excellent play.
Border badminton coach Pete Hardie said: “It was a great day with play of very high standards. In all my years of running this tournament the Under-16 girls’ singles final was one of the best I have ever seen.”
