Following the first ever Borders-wide Sportshall Athletics competition final, Kingsland Primary and Priorsford Primary (both from Peebles) have qualified to represent the Borders at the East of Scotland Sportshall Athletics finals, to be held in Edinburgh on February 26.

Organised by Borders Sport and Leisure’s Active School teams, this year’s Sportshall Athletics competition involved three heats featuring primary schools from the Galashiels, Earlston/Kelso and Peebles cluster areas with the pupils competing in a series of indoor sporting activities. The best performing schools at each of the heats (Burgh and St Peter’s – Galashiels cluster), (Earlston and Broomlands – Earlston/Kelso cluster), (Kingsland and Priorsford – Peebles cluster) qualified for the final held on December 3 at the Queen’s Leisure Centre in Galashiels.

Kingsland Primary (pictured) took top honours on the day, with Priorsford in second place and Earlston Primary in third.
