Michael takes cross-border award

Michael Murray picked up his first English Archery Federation award at the Durham and Northumberland Association’s Fita Star event.

The Border Bowmen member shot 1,132 on Saturday morning in torrential rain, before scoring 1,065 in a very strong gusty wind in north Tyneside.

Murray came fourth in the gents’ recurve, picking up the double 90m award for a score of more than 1,050.

Roy Murray joined his fellow club member on Sunday, shooting 1,057 in the gents’ compound category.
