Tweedbank seniors hosted Balbardie and, having won only the one match so far, it was hoped they could gain a long overdue victory.
Unfortunately for the Borders club, the Linlithgow side raced to a 15-shot win, leaving Tweedbank just above neighbours Teviotdale at the bottom of the table on shot difference.
The only rink to finish with a win was Tommy Mann Snr, Peter McGauchrane, Ian Jackson and Clark Chalmers, by 14 shots.
This week, the seniors have another hard match, this time at Meadowmill against the strong East Lothian team.
Last Saturday saw the men’s team face Bainfield in an important fixture as both teams were unbeaten so far this season.
Tweedbank started well and went ahead by seven shots, a lead they would never relinquish as they secured a fine 82-70 win.
The best rink victory for Tweedbank was achieved by Clark Chalmers, Dougie Wilson, Ross Nichol and Kenny Johnstone.
With two ends left to play, the final score was 24-8 in their favour.
Tweedbank moved to the top of the league and face East Fife at Mehil in two weeks.
While the men were winning at home, the ladies were at Bainfield, but went down 86-75.
