Congratulations go to The Masons, winners of the Selkirk Bowling Club Pub League, who defeated the Hot Shots last Friday night to win the crown.

It does seem quite a hollow victory, however, as tournament ‘favourites’, The Southern Reporter, jumped ship half way through the season after a protracted case of player apathy.

The Selkirk BC Open Triples, sponsored by Donald Macleod, took place on Saturday. Beaten semi-finalists were E. Roberts, T. Brown and J. Fisher from Ettrick Forest and J. Turnbull, J. Hardie and J. Thomson from Selkirk. Runners-up were D. Poloczek, C. Patterson and A. Richardson from Kelso and the winners were C. McKinnon, R. Kelly and I. Borthwick.

The club would like to
take this opportunity to
thank Donald for his
continued sponsorship.

Sunday saw the ladies playing for the Jubilee Cup. The winner was Hazel Scott, beating Jean Hinchliffe in the final.
